In spite of it's the humorous name, this tiny cafe shop off of Hester Street is anything but "grumpy"! The service today was wonderful by the sole barista in the cafe, who was quite accommodating, as I was in desperate need of charging my phone. I let my phone sit while I sipped their lovely Americano and read my new book that I picked up from Sweet Pickle Books around the corner. It's been a very long time since I sat with a book and made me realize how much I missed doing café reading! Thank you so much for the brief sanctuary!

Pretty cool spot for a refresher. I saw the pumpkin spice latte, but decided to trust my asian blood and get a matcha cider fusion drink. It's actually good because the cider cancels out a lot of the matcha's bitterness. It's indoors with AC and the market has free AC so it's slightly better than Starbucks or some bougie street cafe. Definitely feel less grumpy after having a drink here. No lines and quick service. Maybe I'll try the apple cider slushy when my blood sugar is lower?!

A great coffee (and tea) shop! Always unique offerings (a blackberry latte eg, excellent) and alm the usuals very well done. Small comfortable quiet friendly place in the Essex Market. Brooklyn origin, a few of them now, thankfully.

Very small cafe- there's barely any space, and if there's more than 5 people inside then it's a crowd. You basically order and go about your way. I got an iced honey oat latte ($7.35 including tax). The taste has a roasted flair, but not too strong. The consistency is smooth and not watered down. The prices here are on the expensive end.
